Girona Ride Camp - 4 (Guided)

We start north direction to Banyoles, from there we have a challenging option, the ascent of Rocacorba (990m+). One of the most famous climbs of the region. After the summit we descent again to the lake Banyoles. Then we have a rest in front of the quiet water of the lake. After a break we go back to Girona, through the countryside, on a undulated area. Short option: The first 30 Km we will follow the same direction as the long route. Then we can decide to go direction Rocacorba climb or the shortest option direction Girona.

The route takes us to the Gavarres mountains. The riders climb up to 484m visiting the mountain top sanctuary of Els Angels (where Dalí married) crossing the range down to the town of La Bisbal d´ Empordà. The ride returns to Girona by crossing the Gavarres once more, this time climbing up to 400m over the col of Santa Pallaia, and returning to the city through the villages of Cassà de la Selva and Quart, made famous by the US postal team, which was based in Girona. The ride is a 60 km blast on some of the finest cycling roads in the world containing two climbs, as the road winds over the mountains back to the base in Girona.
Short option : We will cut the route in Madremanya direction Monells

We start south direction through a flat area, until Llagostera, where we start uphill to Sant Grau. From there we start one of the most gorgeous descend with an amazing sea view. We reach the coastal road, that runs more than 20 km along the coast above big cliffs. We arrive to Sant Feliu de Guixols where we do a stop-and-go. From there we start our return to Girona through the Romanyà pass and back to Girona. Short option: We arrive to Llagostera where we start Sant Grau. There we will deviate from the long route and we will go direction Cassà de la selva.

This option provides the riders with a chance to climb up to 1000m in altitude to the mountain town of Sant Hilari. The climb to the town is 25Km and is an excellent training climb with its gradients but long distance. Riders then have a thrilling 18km descent to the town of Santa Coloma. This is another famous training ride used by hundreds of local riders. The ride returns to Girona winding through the fantastic countryside of the Girones area.
