Girona – Costa Brava

The bike tour starts in Girona, famous for its spectacular Jewish Quartier.

From Girona, the itinerary takes you to the Costa Brava, along the greenway “El Carrilet”, the ancient railway line. Next laps, will keep you following one of the most beautiful parts of the coast, combining long sandy beaches with small rough coves and charming ancient fishing villages.

Returning back to Girona, you ride until Flaçà, surrounded by wooden and agricultural areas. There you will take the train, on a 15 minutes short ride.

Cycling to Sant Feliu de Guixols you will pass by the ancient rail train called “El Carrilet”. During this stage you will pass villages like Quart, Cassà de la Selva, Santa Cristina D’Aro and Llagostera, just after you will arrive in front of the Mediterranean Sea.

Next village is Calella de Palafrugell, but before to arrive you cycle to Palamos harbour, that worth a visit also as you are here you can visit the Fishing Museum of Palamós and the Iberian settlement in the Platja del Castell. Once you arrrive to Callella you must visit this magnificient fishing village.

You will pass a medieval villages during the stage from Plafrugell to Torroella de Montgrí, as for example, Pals, Palau-Sator and Gualta, reaching the Massif of Montgrí and its castle. You can cycle through the rice fields and long sandy beaches.

Last stage you will cycle the inlands between an agricultral and woody area. Passing through town as Fonolleres, Matajudaica, Corcà and Púbol) at the last town you can visit the Casa-Castell of Gala – Dalí Museum. Once you arrive to Flaçà, you can take the train to come back to Girona.
